Of all the presidents in the United States one sticks out. Theodore Roosevelt was born in N.Y. City on October 27, 1858. As a child, Teddy was often sick and in bed. Abraham Lincoln was Teddy’s favorite President, in 1865 Roosevelt watched Lincoln’s funeral from his grandfather’s upstairs window. From 1875 to 1880 Theodore Roosevelt attended Harvard University. In 1880 to 1882 Teddy attended Columbia Law School but did not become a lawyer. On October 27, 1880 he married Alice Hathaway Lee on his 22nd birthday. In 1880, Teddy also joined the Republican Party. On November 8, 1881 Teddy was elected into the New York Assembly. He was the youngest person to be voted into the Assembly. On August 1, 1882 he joined the National Guard. On September 14, 1901 Teddy became the 26th President of the United States. On January 6, 1919 he died in his sleep.
